The Queer Talks
The Queer Talks is a long-term project (2018–ongoing), partially unpublished, that will take the form of a book featuring the stories of LGBTQIA+ people living in Italy. Each participant is interviewed by journalists Enea Venegoni and Bartolomeo Goffo and portrayed through photographic portraits by Clodoveo C. Petrosino. A selection of the interviews and photographs will also be published online on a dedicated educational website focused on LGBTQ+ issues.
The project has been featured in Vogue Italia and GQ Italia as part of special editorial stories, including collaborations with fashion brands. Over the years, it has also been exhibited in several group shows, such as the WOPHA Congress exhibition at the Marriott Hotel in Miami (2022) and Art N’ Folly during Miami Art Week (2021).
Although Clodoveo C. formally began working on The Queer Talks in 2018, the idea of developing a project centered on the queer community had been present since their earliest steps into photography. They believe that photography can be a powerful tool for raising awareness around social issues and fostering empathy, helping people understand that LGBTQ+ individuals—and all marginalized communities—share the same rights, needs, and dignity as everyone else. For this reason, the project combines portraiture with in-depth interviews, giving space to lived experiences and personal voices.
In 2019, recognizing the project’s potential to nurture an online community, Clodoveo began developing a bilingual website (Italian and English): www.thequeertalks.com. The platform features excerpts from the book alongside original articles and educational content addressing LGBTQ+ topics that are often overlooked in mainstream online discourse. The website is entirely self-funded, allowing for an independent editorial vision free from external influence. The same journalists involved in the book also contribute regularly to the website.

"The Queer Talks" nasce nel 2018 da un’idea di Clodoveo C. Petrosino. Il progetto promuove una narrazione lontana da stereotipi e luoghi comuni, che contribuiscono ad alimentare odio e discriminazione, strumentalizzazione e oggettificazione delle storie, dei corpi, delle vite delle persone della comunità LGBTQIA+ . Dal 2020 Enea Venegoni e Barto Goffo collaborano alla realizzazione di articoli e interviste.
